Saturday, 22 September 2012 21:13The parrot is dead. It's lying on the floor of the House of Commons and it's not moving. Because it's dead.

Europe Isn't A Caricature
Friday, 20 July 2012 12:45According to the International Monetary Fund, the net public debt of Finland was -59.9 per cent in 2011.
What's that, you say? Why, yes! That is boring. But please, keep going. I promise there's an important and relevant point coming and by the end of this column you may even think Finland's net public debt is interesting. Almost.

The Government Is Right To Pay Severance
Wednesday, 11 July 2012 09:05The rule of law is like a 1960s-era Jaguar. It looks sleek and shiny in the showroom. Every-one wants it. Ending the War on Drugs
Wednesday, 18 April 2012 09:24It's admirable for a politician to admit uncertainty. And rare. Especially for a politician who has never expressed anything less than unshakable conviction in the Reaganite nostrums of drug prohibition. But Harper had good reason to be a little shaken.

A Closed Government is an Incompetent Government
Saturday, 07 April 2012 09:14As big as the F-35 fiasco appears, its true import is bigger. And more worrisome.
To see it, we first need to look at the world of 75 years ago.
